This Split House located in Santa Monica California has a very striking and unique design that makes everyone adore it even at first glance. A project by Kovac Design Studio, the house is primarily made out of wooden ceilings, timber, floor-to-ceiling windows, glass railings, wooden ceiling and Venetian plaster treated walls.
The ground floor is openly connected to the beautiful garden while the second floor appears to be split in the middle with a bridge connecting the dual, hull-like bedrooms. The house is designed to have plenty of open spaces so that the natural light could illuminate the interiors.
Moreover, this Split House features sustainable technology designed with green practices in mind. The roof were equipped with photovoltaic panels, LED lighting is used throughout and the hulls are clad in a composite of rice hulls and mineral oil that stimulates the wood.
